Miami Lawn Society Superfine! Preview w/ Patrick & The Swayzees

Join hundreds of energetic art lovers at Superfine! The Fairest Fair for an afternoon cocktail party and private preview of the fair designed to bring you the highest-quality accessibly-priced artwork of Art Basel/Miami Art Week. Local favorite retro swingers Patrick and the Swayzees will be injecting their infectious rhythms into our back garden, which also plays host to a Miami-hued environmental installation in Technicolor by dynamic duo Nice'N Easy and an experiential audio-visual immersion by New Times' top emerging artist Jen Clay within a 1973 Shasta camper called Squatterpopup.

With your Miami Lawn Society admission, you'll get total and early access to the fair itself, where you can find original artwork from 45 local and global exhibitors starting at $300 as well as affordably priced limited edition prints in the Superfine! Print Shop.

With over half of our exhibitors hailing from South Florida, Superfine! is proud to be your local Miami art fair. We're here year-round supporting the city's burgeoning art scene with neighborhood-wide events like our Night of Light which takes over Little River/Little Haiti twice a year, and we just wanted to say thanks for all of the love!

Join us for an extra helping of local love on Thursday night, December 1st, where we'll be spotlighting South Florida artists like Deming King Harriman, Alex Zastera, Alejandro Franco, Erica Sheldon, Eurydice, Asser St. Val, the entire team of artists from Little Haiti's incredible Laundromat Art Space, and many more talented full-time Miami artists. In the back garden you can jam out to delicious sonic sets by hometown heroes Afrobeta, local DJs, and Miami-bred/Mexico City-based queer feminist electro-trop pop group K Pasa USA. Our back garden will also be a place of exploration with installation art by dynamic local duo Nice'N Easy and New Times' favorite emerging artist Jen Clay as part of the Squatterpopup activation.

Art World 101 | "An Artist Who Happens to be (Queer)"

What does it mean to be a gay artist in 2016? Panelists will explore the trials and tribulations of being labeled as a gay or queer artist and how to both confront and work within those stereotypes as they grow their careers and broaden their range of subject matter.

Superfine! Young Collectors' Ice Cream Social w/ Millionyoung

On December 2nd, Superfine! is inviting both existing and aspiring young collectors to join fair directors Alex Mitow and James Miille for a cocktail and delicious ice cream in the back garden of Superfine! The Fairest Fair. Registered young collectors can enjoy all the ice cream they want along with a hand-crafted cocktail and an all-access pass to the rest of the fair. Young collectors will enjoy an exclusive DJ set by Millionyoung along with a tour of the fair with both directors.

Superfine! is an art fair with a central focus on creating access for all levels of collectors to high-quality, well-priced artwork showcased by passionate artists, curators, and dealers. Whether you view yourself as a collector or not, we want to introduce you to the incredible aesthetic and emotional benefit that goes along with cultivating a smart and savvy collection of artwork suited directly to your own fiercely personal taste.

What makes a collector? Is it age, economic status, or something less clearly definable? Our panelists range from celebrity art collectors famous for something other than art to influential local collectors to a regular person just like you who broadens their own horizons through art.

FLOATING/DROWNING

SATURDAY 12.3 | 4PM-6PM
Floating/Drowning, a performance/installation by Monica Jahan Bose, is a a collective response to climate change.  Bose collaborates with women from her ancestral village in Bangladesh as well as residents of Miami to create a transborder physical and emotional link between coastal peoples.  Saris with writing from Bangladesh and Miami are used to establish a people to people agreement on climate, which will move from the fair to the streets to the rising ocean and the bay.

arTEA @ Superfine! LGBTQ Art + Cocktail | Lady Miss Kier DJ Set

SATURDAY 12.3 | 7PM-11PM
Join the Superfine! Fair team for a Miami Art Week evening tea party and cocktail hour welcoming all of our LGBTQ friends and their allies in the back garden of Superfine! The Fairest Fair. Diva of dance Lady Miss Kier, founder and lead vocalist of legendary NYC-based + internationally-renowned hitmakers Deee-Lite ("Groove is in the Heart", anyone?), will spin a special DJ set of classics and funky Nu-Disco tracks that will get you on your feet and in the mood for a healthy dose of delicious art. It's a tea dance and Miami's incredible art scene is the star! Sip a complimentary mojito, experience interactive live performance art, feel the groove that's in your heart, and maybe take home an incredible piece of affordable art!

Admission to arTEA @ Superfine! includes a complimentary cocktail and access to the fair and all of the installations in the rear and front garden. Superfine! 2016 highlights include:
